A right that day by day is infringed upon by so many entities. Privacy is controlled by the holder, and yet day by day allow that to slip through their fingers. Though, in a world where identification is key - no, a key itself - for everything, how can privacy and a normal life co-exist?
Trust and privacy go hand-in-hand, but repeatedly is a peoples’ trust broken along with their privacy. Personal data of one person being sold for mere cents. It has brought us to a place in time where expecting and fighting for privacy is not acceptable, it is criminal. If you have nothing to hide, why hide? That mentality is what drives the ever-quickening loss of privacy on a global scale. These seemingly friendly corporations, who in return collect their data in a megalomaniacal manner, give people services and technologies. Fair trade? Millions seem to think so.
Nobody can expect to have privacy handed to them anymore by corporations. Any attempt to establish or acquire person privacy is immediately noticed by corporations, governments, and peers. Asking for privacy and believing in privacy is not a radical idea – and yet, in the public eye, it is very much so just that. Being followed by a silhouette in the physical world is stalking; virtually, without your knowledge, is capitalism, and normal.
Let us end the criminalization of privacy. No more.
We, at 7Proxies, would let ourselves die before we sold, let alone gave out, data, because we believe that customers are not customers. They are people. We are people. We expect and wish for privacy, and we will not let any numbers distract us from the time we were desperate and afraid.Desperate for a way to escape this digital paper trail always following us. Afraid what could happen if our identities were to be stolen. It must not continue.
As an airline would say, you have a choice in which whom you fly. Fly with us. Fly high, far from the reach of corporate greed. Fly over the seven seas. Fly safe, as it should be. Don’t fly with the airline that lands 9 out of 10 planes – fly with the one that lands all 10 every time. We wouldn’t have it any other way – neither should you.
